Our Waitsfield location is located just off of picturesque Vermont Rte. 100 and is not far from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen Ski areas. This location allows us to reach new areas of Vermont that were not easily accessible by our Middlebury and Stowe locations. Waitsfield is one of four stores in total that we acquired from Allen Lumber Company in November of 2020. The Allen family opened their first lumberyard in Barre in 1888. 135 years and five generations later, rk MILES continues to carry on the Allen legacy through our commitment to our customers and to the community.
Lance began his career with rk MILES at our Manchester location in 1997. Over the past decade and a half, as rk MILES has expanded, he has taken on many roles and continuously contributed to the company’s growth. In 2012, Lance became the Assistant Manager of our Williamstown store, where he played a key role in growing the business and overseeing its expansion and renovations from 2016 to 2017. That same year, he transitioned to Stowe to serve as General Manager, and in 2020, he also assumed the role of General Manager of our Waitsfield location. Today, Lance manages both the Stowe and Waitsfield stores. He takes great pride in helping his employees and customers succeed and values being an active part of the communities where he works.
Travis first joined the crew at Allen Lumber Company. Now, as part of the rk MILES team, Travis says he enjoys problem solving - "Finding the right solution whether it is based on technical or structural needs, budget, or just personal preference," he adds. When Travis is not working you will find him hiking, biking, fishing, snowboarding and spending time with his wife and daughter. He also spends time working on their ca. 1900 home!
