From the Yard
It's rough out in the yard during these winter months with freezing rain and cold knuckles. We like to use this time to learn about some of the latest advances in Lumber and Building Materials technology. Last week National Fiber stopped by our Manchester location to fill us in.
National Fiber Would it surprise you to learn that cellulose is the most common building material in the world? It shouldn't, because wood is cellulose, and you'll find more wood used in construction than any other material. National Fiber clean, recycled paper and cardboards form the basis of cellulose insulation, processes it back to a fibrous state, bearing no resemblance to the original paper. (The same can't be said for all makers of cellulose insulation, however.)
This is some of what we learned from the guys at National Fiber when they stopped by last week. They even brought their hand held infrared heat gun which, when, pointed at a wall will show a void where there is no insulation or an area of heat loss. Thanks Nation Fiber, for teaching us about the benefits of blown insulation, over the more traditional insulation methods. Stop in and ask us about it.
Roxul r.k.Miles now carries ROXUL insulation . . . the fire-resistant insulation that's made from stone. Home owners, contractors and builders rely on Roxul for no-compromise insulation solutions that help save energy and create quiet and safer homes. When it comes to your building needs we work hard to keep up on the newest and best products to meet your building needs. We think you should know about Roxul. Come in and talk to one of the guys to find out if this will work on your next project. In Building Materials, we make sure you have the products you need to get the job done right.
